... IWC is based in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and was founded in 1868.
Its signature lines are the Pilot鈥檚 Watches and the Portugieser, while
other famous collections are the Aquatimer, Portofino and the Da Vinci.
Many of IWC鈥檚 designs display a industrial type of beauty not often
found in Swiss watchmaking. The same goes for its movements; while of
very high standards, they are finished with an 鈥 engineers touch rather
than that of an artist. One could very well say that IWC鈥檚 approach to
watchmaking is more German in nature compared to many of its
competitors; the 鈥榝orm follows function鈥 adagio is one held in high
esteem in Schaffhausen. Notable watches and innovations created by IWC
in the past include the digital 鈥楶allweber鈥 pocket watch, the late
1930鈥檚 Portugieser, the 1985 Da Vinci with Kurt Klaus perpetual module,
the split-seconds mechanism as designed by Richard Habring and the
ceramic Da Vinci and Flieger 3705 鈥 introduced many years before the
material became fashionable. IWC also pioneered the use of titanium in
wristwatches. In recent years, IWC has had a strong focus on in-house
movements with prices rising accordingly. IWC is part of the Richemont

IW3774.01, crafted Platinum round shaped case measuring 45mm
diameter. Fix bezel. Mechanical Self-winding chronograph movement,
power reserve up to 44 hour. Displays a silver dial, with engraved
globe in the center, applied White Gold Arabic numerals, Feuille shaped
hands, stick / dot printed railway minute track. Indications, date at
3; month and hour counter at 6; year window at 8; day indicator and
subsidiary seconds at 9; moon phase and minute counter at 12 o鈥檆lock
position, minute repeater, sweep chronograph seconds hand at center.
Gold crown, with repeater slide push-button, pushers on either side of
crown. Sapphire crystal, arched edge anti-reflective coating on both
sides, solid case back with engraved sextant. IWC Black Alligator
leather strap, with White gold deployment Buckle. Water resistant to
30m/99ft. Display signed "IWC", Caseback Special back engraving &

Grande Complication IW3774.01 Limited Edition, crafted Platinum round
shaped case鈥 IWC makes outstanding timepieces which are some of the
finest in the world. "This rare and incredibly elegant perpetual
calendar is a true technical marvel. Its not just the quantity of data
it records, from the date (including a four-digit year display) to the
moonphase. The display is well organized. Magnificent silvered dial,
with motif engraved globe in the center dial... case on a black leather
strap with a White Gold deployment buckle. Functions include
chronograph, perpetual calendar, moonphase which according to IWC, will
be accurate for 577 years. One last indication is the 4-digit year
between the 7 and the 8. When activated by the slide on the case band,
the minute repeater chimes out the precise time in harmonious tones.
What is spectacular about this is that it won鈥檛 have to be changed
until the year 2100. You cannot go wrong with an IWC, and when it is a
limited edition, its a MUST! A great addition to your collection. I

The highly complex minute repeater strike train for the Grande
Complication and the Portugieser Minute Repeater is operated by an
eye-catching repeating slide on the left-hand side of the case and
chimes out the time in crystal-clear tones: the hours on the
lower-pitched of the two gongs, followed by a double strike on both
gongs for the quarters and finally a single strike on the higher-pitched
gong for the minutes. Every gong is individually handmade and
carefully tuned for pitch and tonal purity. The all-or-nothing piece,
as it is known, ensures that the mechanism will never chime out an
incomplete 鈥 and thus incorrect 鈥 series of acoustic tones even if the

Movement self-winding mechanical movement, IWC Caliber 79091-75 jewels;
28800vph, power reserve approx. 44 hours. IWC developed, made up from
the base: Valjoux 7750 movement, additionally the IWC perpetual
calendar module & the IWC minute-repetition mechanism are made
in-house. The movements are decorated, assembled and regulated in
Schaffhausen, with complex function. This exceptional mechanical
movement combines functionality and precision timekeeping.. 鈥淲atch has been in House Serviced" . IWC...The design of the perpetual calendar was a feat of watchmaking genius.
A mechanical masterpiece, it takes into account all the complexities
of the leap years; in other words, it recognizes all the years that can
be divided, without remainder, by four (e. g. 2012), as well as the
centuries that can be divided, likewise without remainder, by 400 (e.
g. 2400). These leap years all have a 29th day in February. Years at
the turn of the century that leave a remainder when divided by 400 鈥
the next ones are 2100, 2200 and 2300 鈥 are not leap years. The
perpetual calendar鈥檚 century slide with an analogue display turns each
new century into a major event. The current century slide bears the
numbers 20, 21 and 22 and will thus come to the end of its service life
on 31 December 2299; but even now, IWC supplies the century slide
bearing the figures 22, 23 and 24 for the years 2200 to 2499鈥rom IWC
